Art Therapist and Professor
“All religions, arts and sciences are branches of the same tree.” ~ Albert Einstein
Erin is a mother, wife, daughter, sister, granddaughter, aunt and friend. She also an instructor, doctoral student and a Board Certified Art Therapist (ATR-BC) who holds her Master of Science (MS) in Art Therapy Counseling and a Graduate Certificate in Autism Spectrum Disorders from Emporia State University in Kansas. Erin is pursuing her doctorate at Drexel University with expected graduation in 2022.
Erin is faculty at The Pennsylvania State University and developer/instructor of AA 120N: Introduction to art therapy.
She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Family and Child Sciences with a minor in Psychology from The Florida State University. She worked her way through college as a teacher’s assistant at a Montessori school and has facilitated art therapy with various populations. Erin postponed her doctoral studies to focus on her family and to spend more quality time with her children. During this time she was inspired to write and illustrate her first children’s book which was published in 2017 and to pursue the art therapy course that she brought to Penn State (Erin did not learn about the field until she was about to graduate undergrad and wants students to be introduced to it before she was!).
